We coordinate the activities and events for veterans AT NO COST. We offer a peaceful retreat,  A comfortable place for  relaxation and renewal from everyday pressures.  HLF also offers a unique atmosphere to host a variety of experiences.  

come and enjoy the experience of the Pennsylvania wilds.  In addition, the area is a wonderful place for riding bicycles, motorcycles, four-wheelers, snowmobiles, horses, etc.  It’s also the perfect location to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and all kinds of events.  Enjoy with your family and friends the beautiful outdoors.

Winter Family Tradition

Guests are invited to be part of a traditional butchering: an activity where  veterans are directly involved in each and every step of the process – culling, weighing, skinning, cutting, processing the meat, packaging, etc.  The activity also includes a generous food bar and hot drinks to warm the soul.  The processed meat is divided among veterans at the end of the event.

Healing through Comradery

This “monte Carlo night” is an event that focuses on the morale of our heroes. a variety of games are organized for them to participate in, and to enjoy a time of fellowship.  Although no currency is used, there are special prizes for the top 4 winners, and a prize wheel for all others.  We take time to reflect on the important role the veterans play to ensure Americans remain free.  Delicious refreshments are served throughout the event.

Activities

Lest We Forget Remembrance Gathering

The participants come together to remember those fallen or missing in action.  To honor our lost heroes, a targeted horse trail ride takes place.  This event allows veterans to share their common memories and support each other.  A delicious menu is prepared for our guests.

The Pig-Nic Project

on the shores of pine creek, the veterans take part in a unique activity – a traditional pig-roast. The guests have the opportunity to participate in all phases of roasting a pig. some of the activities to be experienced while the roasting is on-going are: riding horses, bicycling, kayaking, swimming in the creek, playing games or just relaxing on the creek bank.

Open House

HLF opens its doors to the civilian community giving wounded veterans the opportunity to connect and interact with their business and political leaders.  It’s a great time for them to get to know one another and share their experiences, while enjoying a variety of homemade goodies.  

License to Grill

A Backyard BBQ is organized for our veterans and family members to have fun and enjoy a full day of excitement. There are various activities to experience, such as: grilling, smoking meat, 4-wheeling, riding horses, bicycling, and playing games, to name a few.
